These are access to information & knowledge, freedom of expression, privacy, and ethical norms on a global Internet.

DAY 1: Main Thematic Plenary Session (1): Cybersecurity and Trust

Description:
This session will focus on the Cybersecurity and Trust, taking into consideration that cyber risks have increased over the past few years, whether in terms of the emergence of new tactics in electronic piracy and hacking attacks targeting the systems and the critical infrastructures, or in terms of the diversity of the electronic crimes.
Moreover, new challenges have raised in the field of maintaining the user confidence in the Internet usages covering the different aspects of life, whether in ensuring official and business dealings, or in maintaining the privacy of the data on different platforms, especially in social networking platforms, or in the free flow of information and freedom of expression through suitable legislations and legal frameworks, mainly in the Arab Region.
 
Main Focus:
  • New developments in cyber risks and their diversity in the Arab Region and worldwide
  • Cyber legislation and its applications in the Arab Region and their compliance with international legislations and frameworks
  • Technical framework facing the cyber-risk developments
  • Community awareness and capacity building in the Arab Region along with the efforts to gain users confidence
  • The use of IOT and the respect of data privacy and life privacy
