Short Biography
Graduated in modern literature and philosophy in the University of Sorbonne, Pierre Bonis has been involved in Internet governance discussions since 2000. He was then ICT Co-operation officer at the embassy of France in Nigeria. Head of the ICT office at the foreign affairs ministry from 2003 to 2008, he participated to the full WSIS negotiations. In 2008, he joins Afnic, the French registry for .fr, and, as the Vice-President for of the organization committee, supervises the organization of ICANN meeting in Paris. In 2009, he joins Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet, minister for the digital economy, as advisor for international affairs. He becomes her deputy chief of staff when she’s appointed as minister for sustainable development, housing, and transports. In 2012, Pierre Bonis joins Afnic again, as deputy CEO.
